1. Your Learner’s Permit will be required.

Your instructor will want to see your learner’s permit or student license before allowing you to drive during your first in-car driving session. At A1 Advance Driving, you must bring it with you to every driving lessons in Calgary.

2. You’ll begin by sitting in the passenger seat.

There’s no need to be afraid about your friends photographing you for the first time driving away. Your teacher will take you to a parking lot or another calm residential area away from your pick-up spot.

3. You’ll be eased into driving by the instructor.

It’s natural to be apprehensive before your first class. That’s why your instructor has been educated to make you feel at ease so that you can learn. Relax by taking a big breath. You’ll quickly find yourself looking forward to the journey.

4. You’ll take a look at yourself in the mirror. A fair bit.

The teacher will go through the car’s gauges and controls during your first in-car driving session. You’ll also learn why the mirror is so vital. It’s so vital that your teacher will go over it thoroughly in the first class and every subsequent one.

5. You Will Be Asked To Drive

It’s the moment you’ve been looking forward to! Bonus: You won’t have to worry about other cars or traffic during your first in-car driving session. You’ll get to test out a few basic moves and pick up some useful tips. These are tactics that will help you drive safely for the rest of your life.

6. It’s Possible That You’ll Have To Switch Seats Several Times

During driving lessons in Calgary, the instructors do understand that you learn by watching skills and actions performed correctly, not only by hearing with your ears. As a result, you may find yourself switching sides with your instructor multiple times. If this occurs, keep a close eye on it.  You can’t beat a real-life example mixed with instructions on paper for showing you how to handle the steering wheel, the skill of easing off the brake, or how to read the gauges.

7. There Will Be A Lot Of Time For Q&A.

Is there something you don’t understand? That’s perfectly typical. You’re virtually guaranteed to have questions during your first in-car driving session. Inquire with your instructor about anything you don’t understand or aren’t sure about. Better still, ask them to demonstrate.

8. You and your instructor will form a bond.

You + your instructor = a great team! Remember, your instructor is highly trained and wants to help you succeed. And they do have an instructor brake, which they can use if need be. Rest assured that your instructor will be there, for whatever happens during your driving adventure!

9. You’ll Receive a Customized Report

At A1 Advance Driving School, after your first in-car driving session, and after each subsequent in-car driving lesson, our teachers evaluate your progress. They then create a customized report for you and your parents to view online. So, even if your parents already think you’re fantastic, you can now offer them something more to brag about!
